nothing special
the clouds leaked water
and obstructed the sun
like they do sometimes
then i was travelling
along city streets,
made not the slightest bit more interesting
or evocative, by the rain,
just wet
later the winds moved the clouds
somewhere else, who cares where,
and a summer sun erased the wet
reading a poem which leaves no impression
embrace of a summer rain
reveals no hidden hope in the cooling
gift of afternoon light
cleverly highlights no neglected majesty
no reason not to just keep on doing
exactly what you always do
nothing to see here folks,
move along
